"Having just installed SP1 over Gold on a Linux server, I say this is one of the easiest to install programs out there. It doesn't even require you to enter the absolute path for the directories. And the improvements over Gold (which was an excellent product itself) are almost mind-boggling. One of the things that impresses me most about YaBB is that you guys manage to pack a ton of functionality into such a small amount of space. "Coming from a background of barley no HTML or Perl experience, looking for a Forum that doesn't limit me to anything, I stumbled upon YaBB. "I've used YaBB for a long time, last time I used it was years ago with a graphics site I had, now it is being used to post my own PHP tutorials and scripts for others to use, its a great software must say despite the fact it is coded in Perl. The admin panel is the best, its really easy to use. phpBB can never live up to the standards of YaBB, neither the same for SMF." -- Ben Stones

"Recently, I built another website using phpBB instead of YaBB. I needed to use phpBB on that site for certain reasons. What I discovered is that YaBB has many useful features that are standard that phpBB requires mods for. ... I have not had a single security breach since I upgraded to 2.3.1, not so on phpBB I had 4 security breaches in a week as I had to modify the captcha it uses. Because YaBB has RSS standard feature it is easy to place RSS feed links into CMS pages like in Joomla. I now have well over 1,000 members on a pretty active board and YaBB has given me no problems it is totally stable. It is easy to customize and there is a lot of support here on this site and on boardmod if you need it. ... My members seem to be very comfortable with the YaBB forum. Over the years the staff here at YaBB have been more than helpful anytime I had an issue upgrading or making modifications.
